The New Jersey Psychoanalytic Society, a component society of the American Psychoanalytic Association, is a group of analysts who live in, work in, or otherwise have a connection to New Jersey, and who are eligible for membership in the American Psychoanalytic Association or have graduated from a psychoanalytic institute that meets the training requirements of the Psychoanalytic Consortium. We do not have official ties to any one single institute but our members are strongly committed to the value of psychoanalytic thinking and teach across a wide range of mental health settings in addition to being involved in training at analytic institutes. The NJPS presents 6-7 scientific meetings each year on a broad range of topics for the professional public, as well as meetings on literary, artistic or historical themes which are also open to nonprofessionals.
